A clever article dealing with… um… social etymology, or the Brooklyn vernacular. Either way, very clever. =)

Nearly Normalized

Mel Brooks has said it, don’t let “Schmucks die out.”  It is the insult that defines a culture of put downs without getting killed.  What is a schmuck?  Certainly in the douche bag and prick senses, but it has a warmer feeling and I think a smile to ones face appears when hearing the word schmuck.  Find a older Jewish man or woman and ask the meaning of the word schmuck, you will remember the word and use it well.

Don’t be a schmuck today, enjoy.
